Creature Adoptable 3 (CLOSED) by TheVenomStain Creature Adoptable 3 (CLOSED) by TheVenomStain
I was thinking of using this guy/girl as one of the Untamed/Tamed Ones for my rp group which is still under construction, but I already have enough characters of my own. Feel free to ask questions if you might be interested in joining, but you can also find a lot of info about the general story of the group in the descriptions of the art in the gallery of NPCs.

Umm, I'd take Paypal :XD: I think money value would be $1?

I could also do a draw-to-adopt at half price.

Yes, but it goes down to half price, so it'd be 40 points instead of 80.

I am surprised! THe only reason I haven't jumped on him is I don't think I'd have a use for him. xD
So he'd just sit there.

I kind of mixed a deer, horse, and rabbit for this one :XD: it's written above the drawing on the page, but I cleverly erased it before uploading ;P

Well, it takes time to set up something big, like an RP plot and group!

I'd love to hear some details! :D

basically, I created this group to help me flesh out the world and story of the two main characters, Canta, and his partner Neces.

The humans of their world all live in a fortified city in the middle of a vast forest. The forest is inhabited by creatures the people call the Untamed. These creatures often attack the human city, and so to defend itself the city trains Tamers, an elite group of warriors who have the ability to "seal" the Untamed for a few moments, freezing one creature and baring their soul to it, pretty much asking the creature to join their cause. Once they agree, that creature becomes their Tamed One.

The idea is for a Tamer to go out and get a Tamed One on their first try, and something large enough to be ridden into battle. The thing is, not everyone succeeds on their first attempt, sometimes people find Untamed eggs or young and raise them from infancy (not exactly a method that proves one's ability), and sometimes Tamers are even killed by the Untamed once they leave the city. There are many variables on how a Tamer catches/tames their Tamed One, and that's one of the things that will be required to join the group (a brief summary of how the applicant's Tamer met their Tamed One).

There is an unknown number of Untamed in their world, and I have only created a few species. Applicants are free to create a new species of Untamed, but it must be submitted for approval before they submit an application with a Tamer and their new species. Untamed will be adapted to their environment (you won't find a creature with long hair all over its body in the desert area on the south edge of the forest) and all have their own unique personalities, but they don't talk or communicate with their Tamers any more than an animal could. In theory, they are animals, but with a bit more understanding.

That was rather long, but I hope it helps ^^;

Wow! I really like this idea! I'd certainly want to create a character, and join this.

I have a few questions though. Are elves allowed in the world? Since there are so many different environments (I'm guessing.), and species of Untamed, wouldn't there also be a few different types of humanoid species?

Also, what era is it in? Is it set more medieval, or is it more futuristic?

I'm sure I have more, I'm just so tired right now, I'm not thinking very straight. :XD:

I find this world fascinating, and already I have many ideas for characters! (As well as Untamed/ Tamed creatures...I really like creating fantasy species.)

Alright, let me answer your questions.

1: No, as far as I can foresee, there won't be any elves in this world. This simply being that I see Elves as a very magical race, and there isn't much magic at all in this world, the closest thing being the "sealing" technique the Tamers are taught. There aren't people who can create fireballs or heal wounds or anything like that, and Elves just seem pointless in a world with little to no magic :shrug:

2: there actually is one other humanoid character, just not a "playable" one. She's meant to be the main badguy of the story, and the fact that she's a humanoid plays a big role in her part, so she's got to be the only one ^^;

3: it's probably more medieval, in that the Tamers are riding steeds into battle instead of equipping themselves with laser guns and such. They'll be wielding bows and arrows, swords, ect.

Alright! Makes sense that elves wouldn't be in the world, if there isn't really any magic.

Okay, so some more questions. (Sorry to bother you.)

Are the Tamed Ones, and their Tamers bonded in any ways? Like, some kind of spiritual, or mental connection. I know they wouldn't be able to talk, but would they be able to sense each other's emotions or something, if there is a bond like that?

Also, what is the average life expectancy for a human in this world? Are there multiple cities, in different regions? Are there islands, or other continents? How advanced is the technology?
I understand their weaponry, but do they have large sailing vessels, or established trades and roads between towns?

Sorry that I'm so inquisitive....I'm really really interested in this world, and I'm actually thinking of creating a character. :)

no trouble at all :XD:

And to answer your questions:

No, there are not multiple towns (in the known world, anyway) and there are no sailing vessels because most humans wouldn't make it far enough through the forest that surrounds the city on all sides to reach the ocean. One of the Tamers' jobs is to collect provisions from the surrounding forest (the more advanced Tamers might venture far enough to get to the edge of the forest to the lands beyond and find more rare materials). As far as I know, there is only the one continent, with a possible few small islands off the coast, but the ocean would only be accessible by a small portion of the land (the rest being blocked by mountains, cliffs, and more forest), but none of it is inhabited by humans.

There is a bond between the Tamer and the Tamed Ones, but in a very general sense of the word. Something along the lines of, a Tamed One could sense if their Tamer was feeling upset, and might try to cheer them up, or a Tamer might risk his life to protect his Tamed One. But like I said before, there's not really any magic in this world, so the "link" if any is not exactly a tangible thing.

Average life expectancy is probably somewhere between 60-80, depending on one's occupation. The life expectancy of a Tamer might be considerably lower, since many of the less-skilled ones are killed by the Untamed on a regular basis. There are, however, some older Tamers who have managed to survive for many years, but the oldest Tamers would be 40-50.

I'm going to have to start working on an application sheet, and your questions are very helpful, so don't feel that you're asking too many :dummy:
